Knox County Rural Housing is currently seeking part-time individual to do maintenance work. This position is expected to become full-time within the next year and offers the possibility of moving into a management position for the right individual. Duties include the following:
Our ideal candidate would have some knowledge in HVAC, appliances, plumbing and electrical. Having apartment maintenance experience would be ideal but not essential.
1-3 years of maintenance experience desired
Some previous HVAC experience required
Must have the ability to be on-call for emergencies
Some experience with stove and refrigerator maintenance
Must be flexible and able to shift priorities if needed.
Some groundskeeping duties such as weed-eating, bushes and light tree trimming, etc.
Must be able to lift approximately 75 pounds.
Must have strong communication and people management skills to deal effectively with a wide variety of individuals and personalities (residents, vendors, etc.); must maintain professionalism and respect while dealing with upset and angry residents.
Must be very organized, with a strong attention to detail; must stay on top of paperwork.
Must be able to able to work independently and identify and manage needed work tasks on a self-directed basis
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must have valid Indiana driver's license with a clear record (speeding tickets okay)
Must be able to pass drug screening
